The 1938 Ford Vintage Race Car

Fuelfed member, legendary collector and master concours judge Lou N. asked us to let Fuelfed members/fans have first crack at his 1938 Ford coupe race car.

This isn’t your gran-pappy’s old douce coupe.

Lou writes:

This light weight Ford is set-up for Vintage Road Racing. Second set of wheels and tires included for oval track. The all-steel, two-door sedan body is in good condition. As are Ford Flathead V-8, Ford three-speed and rear end. New 15 x 6 inch wheels and tires have had only one race weekend of use. Car has had recent carb and brake work. Also has roll cage, racing seat and belt, and fuel cell.

Raced this September 2012 at VSCDA Road America. Car was a great crowd pleaser at Road America both on the track and in the paddock. It was one of only four cars, out of the several hundred in attendance, that was pictured in Vintage Race Car Magazine’s coverage of the event in their December 2012 issue.

This is simple, durable car and a bargain entry into vintage road racing.
