Yep it’s Coffee & Classics again this Sunday morning.
Event safety for our classics and those who appreciate them will be improved from now on. We met with the Winnetka police department yesterday and they are excited to support Coffee & Classics in any way they can. As a test, we’re going to have police barricades at the north end of Lincoln at Prospect and south at Elm to better control non-classic traffic. No public through traffic will be allowed between 8:30am and 11:00am.
We ask that if you are NOT driving your pre-1990 classic, that you park south of Elm and NOT in the barricaded zone. Yes, you can come and go as you want, just be mindful of local traffic (pedestrian and vehicle).
Again, this is a test to help control public and classic traffic. Please do NOT block cross traffic as you enter or exit the barricades.
We’ll be meeting on the 550 block of Lincoln (see map here) just north of Elm in east downtown Winnetka (east of Greenbay Rd.).
If you like, we have windshield display cards for drivers to fill out their cars’ vitals. This will allow the rest of us to appreciate the classic even if the driver isn’t nearby to chat. You can download cards from the web link here and print as many as you want.
