2011 Fuelfed Chicago Christmas Lights Winner

Every year we do some Holiday cruise nights through various Chicago and Northshore neighborhoods taking in some of the seasonal celebration of lights. These cruises must always have the obligatory Bing Crosby, Andrew sisters & Burl Ives playing vintage favorites to keep the childhood spirit alive.

Just like the cultural differences in neighborhood restaurants, so too are the yard light designs. It’s quite an interesting socioeconomic study. The Northshore preferring mono-chromatic elegant themes. Linconwood where more is more. And Logan Square with it’s rich vibrant colors and shapes.

This year, the snow wasn’t around to add that special feeling, so wintery cocktails were in order after each cruise.

After much deliberation, the 2011 Fuelfed winner is the Gingerbread House at Rockwell & Logan Blvd. in Logan Square.
