September Fuelfed Coffee & Classics Recap

by

The September Fuelfed Coffee & Classics was quite tumultuous with weather flip-flopping between torrential downpours and gentle mist. Either way it kept the crowds to a minimum. But what emerged was one of the better line ups of European classics to ever grace Lincoln & Elm.

.

.

Not supprisingly all the serious metal stayed through all the rain in true Fuelfed fashion. With “hey it’s only rain” being the common phrase of the morning.

This month’s color theme seemed to be black to match the weather.

The Trooper Award goes to Tim and his Lotus Elan, who had some high speed brake issues exiting on Tower Rd. and then foregoing buttoning up the bonnet  during the downpour in order to tend to his four week old grandson.

The rare exotics were there first, with the Messerschmidt and Issetta in front of Little Ricky’s. The Lambo Espada sat down the block flanked the concours Volvo 1800e with the Ferrari 328 GTS.

Then the cutie in the gray hat arrived in the black Speedster and Alan in the 356 coupe.

.

.

Loyal Curt in his 356 coupe was followed by a pack of E-Types and Shelly in his 300sl.

.

.

Sam’s Fulvia led the BMW crew of Frank, David and Martin.

.

.

And finally some out-of-state BMW Vintagefest guests stopped by on their way back east.

.

.

Overall, it was a great networking event with some of the best variety of high-end European classics, in what has become the North Shore’s best enthusiast monthly gathering.
