UR quattro II?

by

After thirty years, Audi is thinking about reproducing an all-conquering coupe. This built on an Audi platform and not VW like the TT. This quattro coupe is to honor the UR quattro that debuted in 1981 and proceeded to dominate WRC Group B for years. You know the car, so we won’t bore you with history regurgitation.

Not sure where Audi will position this concept, but with it’s space age composite body components and familiar iron block/aluminum head 2.5-liter inline-five, but it sits at the across roads of old school and high tech. The single turbocharger fitted to its exhaust, the direct-injected powerplant has been tuned to deliver 408 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Most drive line and braking components are borrowed from the RS5.

The looks; hmmm, let’s say it sits at the corner of today’s Camero and yesterday’s Corrado.
