Chicago Outlaws 1964

In this new Fuelfed category called Vintage Motor Culture, we’re paying homage to the roots of motor culture. We’ll be posting weekly vintage shots from eras that helped define the Fuelfed spirit.

All the below shots are by Danny Lyon in Chicago 1964.

The Outlaws Motorcycle Club was established in 1935 at Matilda’s Bar on old Route 66 in McCook, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.

By the 1960’s the club had established the Outlaw Nation, growing new chapters in several surrounding states. Today, the Outlaws are one of the biggest motorcycles clubs in the world with Chicago as the Mother Chapter.
