Fuelfed April 2011 Coffee & Classics

The first Coffee and Classics of 2011 took place on a very cold but sunny morning. Many of us were pulling our cars out of winter storage the rainy day before. But turn out was great, despite the preceding weeks of painful winter trailings.

It was a pleasure to see the 356 group of Curt, Alan & Jim out in force. Bob, Tom and Alan backed up the E-Type showing. Dave, Frank, Jean, Martin & several others brought on the BMW’s.

It’s always exciting to see what might show up. How about a Renault 5 Turbo2?  A Lotus Elan?  A Rolls Corniche? All there. Horse power? How about a 500hp 1987 911 turbo next to 500hp 1977 Trans Am? You could smell the testostrone. The farthest driven was an immaculate black 1957 Thunderbird all the way from Yorkville. That’s 70 miles one way!

Anyway, it was really good to see many happy faces from last October and to meet many new ones.

Fuelfed driver Frank V. not only brought his beautiful wife and self-restored BMW 2002 hot-rod, he brought his video equipment and talent to add some life to the memories as the events pass by.

New this season, is a short interview sequence with a couple of drivers and their classics each month. So if you’d like to get your pride & joy on digital film, contact us or Frank.

Alan, Sam & Sheldon were brave enough to have Lorraine and Frank pester them for a few minutes.

The nice thing is that Coffee & Classics is evolving into gathering of local enthusiast friends, just the way it should be. Not like every other events where owners sit by themselves in lawn chairs nibbling on snacks. We love to actually drive our cars even if means risking having a chat with Johnny Law.

We look forward to seeing everyone again on May 29th.

These are just a few shots, sorry if we missed anyone.
